As with the first home in late January, this is a load of avian influenza with a low risk of spread or “low pathogenicity” CFIA specialist emergency centers Sandra Stephens told a press conference .
The agency quarantined 36 premises last month, to a farm in Abbotsford, about 70 kilometers (43 miles) south-east of Vancouver, and some 60,000 birds slaughtered on the risk of infection.
Wednesday’s quarantine area was reduced by around 10 new features of the second court in the same environment, and over 12,000 chickens were slaughtered on Thursday, said Stephens.
Three properties were also the first quarantine, she said.
The H5 subtype of these two viruses are still in the laboratory.
According to the World Health Organization WHO, around 250 people died of bird flu worldwide since 2003, especially in Asia.
The H5N1 virus usually spreads from birds to humans through direct contact, but experts fear it could mutate into a form easily transmissible from person to person, with the potential to kill millions of cases of a pandemic.
